Cappadocia is inhabited since many millennia, the first civilizations settled here since 8.000 B.C.

The magnificent and unique landscape was formed by the 2 volcanoes Erciyes and Hasan, as they erupted at the same time about 2 million years ago. The volcanic ashes solidified into tufa and basalt, and erosion by wind and rain finished this unique natural wonder like a piece of art.

Hittites, Seljuk's and early Christians left their trails in the region. Underground cities, rock-cut troglodyte dwellings, churches and monestaries can still be admired today in the unique fairy-tale landscape of Cappadocia.
